A night out at the Indian Ocean offers you much more than the opportunity to enjoy our award winning cuisine. We cater for everything from intimate dining for two in a private booth right through to larger groups celebrating a party.
The restaurant’s interior is a luxurious yet informal setting suitable for any occasion. It offers you both a relaxed atmosphere and a standard of comfort that other restaurants find difficult to match. The main dining area comfortably seats 120 people, with a mix of luxurious private booths, open seating and some great party areas. There is all the flexibility you need to enjoy an atmosphere of intimate dining or extra space to celebrate with a larger group of family or friends.

Bar, Lounge & Terrace
The separate spacious bar and lounge area provides the ideal venue for drinks and friendly relaxation before and after your meal is served or you could mingle on our unique outside terrace.
We have resident DJ’s every Friday and Saturday making a visit to the Indian Ocean the perfect highlight for any weekend, look our for our live entertainment schedule on our events page. Sunday to Thursday, things are a little more relaxed and are ideal for entertaining colleagues and guests, a romantic meal or a family party, midweek also sees a wide variety of special events and theme nights, visit our events page to find out more. Weekend or midweek don’t miss those all important sports nights, our giant sized multimedia flat screen TV’s show live events as they happen.
Outside Dining - a new dimension, In July 2008, our outside dining terrace opened and a new, healthy eating, al-fresco dining menu introduced. With the healthy menu presented in tiffin boxes, this gives a perfect opportunity for diners to enjoy light Indian meals whilst taking full advantage of the warmer weather. We have also used an affordable 'credit crunching' pricing structure which means customers can still dine out without worrying about the pennies.
With a backdrop of the beautiful Albion Church in Tameside and specially hand-carved Indian Ocean signage, the Indian Ocean terrace is fast becoming a landmark within the Tameside area.
And for that special occasion we offer a totally flexible private dining room, comfortably seating over 30 people. The Indian Ocean is a family restaurant so children are always welcome, so why not come and try our award winning cuisine and book a table now.
Private Dining
The private dining room is a large, comfortable room that can be laid out in a variety of ways and has easy access for your guests, including wheelchair access. We cater for parties and larger private functions - both for your business needs and for when families and friends get-together. Seating over 30 people in comfort or arranged for a stand-up buffet, we can layout the tables and decorate the room to your requirements. The room is also served by a large flat screen TV so if you want to watch the match with a group of friends or re-run your wedding video then that can easily be arranged.
Wheelchair Access
The Indian Ocean restaurant, toilet facilities and bar are all on one level, with wide double doors, giving easy access to all guests. We have wheelchair ramps at both the restaurant entrance and into the main and private dining areas.
